Breaking news: SIM card re-registration extended for two months

The Government has pushed back the deadline for re-registering SIM cards to Friday, September 30. This is breaking news.

This will let Ghanaians get the Ghana Card from the National Identification Authority (NIA) and also re-register their SIM cards. In a related change, the NIA has put off getting a Ghana Card until August 2, 2022.

People who haven’t finished the process yet will be able to do so through an app that will be made just for SIM registration. However, it will cost GHS5.00 for each SIM that is re-registered on the app.

“Now, you have until September to re-register your SIM card. The registration process can now be done on your own. According to Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Minister of Communications, the registration app will be on the App Store and will cost 5 cedis.
