Speedway is a U.S. gas station and store chain. Speedway is a good option if you’re travelling and need groceries or gas.
Speedway has locations across the U.S. and employs thousands of people.
Apple Pay is faster and easier than other payment methods. People who use Apple Wallet at other stores wonder if Speedway accepts Apple Pay.
Here’s a guide to using Apple Pay at Speedway.
Apple Pay at Speedway?
Speedway takes Apple Pay. Apple Wallet pays for gas and in-store purchases. Speedway accepts other payment methods besides Apple Pay.
Apple Pay is considered more convenient and easy than other payment methods, and it eliminates the confusion.
Apple Pay should approve your payment in seconds, ensuring your security and privacy, unlike other payment methods.
Before using Apple Pay at Speedway, add a card to your Apple Wallet.
Apple Pay is a Wallet system that uses your card as a source of payment. Instead of explicitly paying with your card at Speedway, which may expose your card details to cybercriminals, you can link it to your Apple Wallet.
This ensures payment security.
You only add a card to your Apple Wallet when you want to pay with a different card than the one already linked to it.
• Open device settings
First, add your card to Apple Wallet. Go to your device settings, which can be found on the home screen, tap on the settings icon, and tap on Wallet and Apple Pay.
• Step 2: Enter Card Details
Tap Add Card and tap Continue. You must enter all necessary card information correctly or your card may be rejected. For a faster process, scan your card.
Once you agree to Apple Pay’s terms and conditions, you’ll be directed to verify your card by following the process.
After adding a card to Apple Wallet, you can pay with it where it’s accepted.
At this point, link your payment card to Apple Wallet.
Speedway Apple Pay
First-time Apple Pay users may find it confusing to make in-store and gas station payments with Apple Wallet.
I’ll show you how to use Apple Pay at Speedway’s gas stations and stores.
Apple Pay is contactless, so you don’t need to touch the reader.
By placing your card near an NFC reader, you can make purchases.
Speedway’s Apple Pay payment process is as follows:
• Step 1: Use Apple Pay
Since you’ll be paying with Apple Pay, tell the cashier or attendant that you’ll be using your Apple Wallet; once accepted, continue.
• Choose a payment card
If you don’t select a card, the default card will be used.
Adding the card you’ll use to pay for your purchase is necessary.
Open your Apple Wallet App, select the default card, and you can choose from all linked cards.
This process ensures that you are authenticating the transaction, so you must unlock your card.
Double-click the side button to bring out the scanner for Face ID.
Touch ID: Home button.
If you’re not using either of the unlocking methods I mentioned earlier, enter your Apple ID password to verify your card.
• Step 4: Place device near NFC reader
To pay with Apple Wallet, place your device near the NFC Reader until a done and checkmark appear. You’ve been paid.
If you have trouble using Apple Wallet at Speedway, don’t be shy; ask a representative for help.
At Speedway, you can pay with Speedway Reward cards, credit/debit cards, and Apple Pay.
Apple Pay is only available on iOS-based devices, so if you don’t have an iPhone, you can use another payment method.
Speedway accepts these payments:
Speedway gift cards.
Speedway doesn’t accept Android/Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.
Find Apple Pay gas stations.
You can’t be sure that every gas station will accept Apple Pay, so always confirm before refuelling.
One of the most common ways to find out if a gas station accepts Apple Pay is through the Apple Maps app on iOS devices.
1. Open iPhone Apple Maps.
2. Search by store name.
3. Tap the right spot.
4. Scroll down for store info.
If the company accepts Apple Pay, a checkmark and “Accepts Apple Pay” will appear under “Useful to Know.” Another sign is Apple Pay.
Once you know Apple Pay is accepted, you can buy.
Apple Pay for gas?
Most people know they can use Apple Pay in-store and online, but not at gas stations.
If Apple Pay is accepted at a gas station, you can also use Apple Wallet.
Some gas stations have yet to accept Apple Pay, so if you’re in one, you’ll have to pay with other methods, which may not be in your favour.
Apple Pay widespread?
Not all stores accept Apple Pay, but many do.
Even though Apple Pay seems more secure, you can’t be sure a store will accept it, so check the Apple Map App.
In other cases, credit cards and debit cards are widely accepted in most stores.
You shouldn’t be so confident in a particular retailer or store accepting Apple Pay, though a large percentage already does and a reasonable number will join this chain.
Apple Pay may be accepted in the future, so ask the cashier.
