NUGS Basic School Support Project

The Secretary for Education of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Mr. Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel, and his team have kickstarted the NUGS Basic School Support Project with a donation to the Dompoase Methodist Basic School in the Ashanti Region.

The donation, in partnership with the Dreams of Africa Youth for Change, was made during the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) meeting of the school on Tuesday, 15th March 2022.

The donated items include storybooks, reading books and other stationery to help ensure the smooth running of the school.

Mr. Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel told Success Africa that the donation was to alleviate the plight of the school children to access education.

He said they saw how the young girls and boys were writing on their laps and finding it difficult to get exercise books to study, a challenge that has made learning not enjoyable but frustrated the children and stopped them from going to school.

The Headteacher and Teachers were very enthused with the gesture and urged the team to continue contributing their widow’s mite to help improve the standards of Basic Education.

The Secretary for Education also engaged the PTA and students, and the conversation was very fruitful.
Mr. Kyeremeh expressed his deepest appreciation to Dreams of Africa Youth for Change and all donors for making this happen.

Mr. Kyeremeh also hinted that more donation exercises are to be rolled out across the country. Items like Computers, Uniforms, building materials, and others will be donated to other deprived schools across the country.
