A few days ago, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, cautioned that the registration deadline for SIM cards in Ghana will not be extended a second time.
The exercise, which began on 1st October 2021, was originally scheduled to end on 31st March 2022; however, the sector Ministry extended the deadline to 31st July 2022 due to the fact that more than 7.5 million citizens and residents had not yet obtained their Ghana Card, preventing them from registering their SIM cards.
According to the Minister, more over twelve million Ghanaians have linked their Ghana cards to their SIM cards.
However, in a Facebook post, Nana Aba Anamoah asked with Ursula Owusu to extend the registration deadline because a large number of individuals still without Ghana Cards.
She posted on Facebook, “Make them prolong the SIM card registration, eh.
Some individuals have not yet been able to obtain their Ghana cards oo.
